Weariless Water Workers
Water workers are very important, you know,
They are the reason aquatic lives glow.
They have many jobs that can be explored,
but not one can be ignored.
From adding chemicals such as ammonia or chlorine to disinfect,
all the way to making sure the safety standards are met.
They clean and maintain equipment like tanks,
filter beds, and their work area,
just to make sure there is no bacteria.
We are not done yet, so don't tune out!
There is still a lot about water workers to learn about.
The virus has made almost everything hard.
Nevertheless, water workers never let down their guard.
They collect and test water and sewage samples,
but that's just one more thing they do, let me give you more examples.
Meters and gauges are some things they record,
This data is later stored!
They operate equipment to dispose of sewage,
or to purify and clarify the water, which comes to our usage.
I'm sure there are a lot more things that they do,
but now I shall conclude.
Without them our harbor would be a mess,
leaving the marine life in distress.
They are the reason our water is clean,
and not a gastly green.
As you can see the job of a water worker is very important.
They are hard-working and very efficient.
Take a moment to appreciate them,
After all, they are the reason Boston Harbor is such a gem.
