Grade 9-12 students in the MWRA service area are invited to participate in our Video Contest for 2013-2014.

Eligibility |
The video contest is open to all grade 9-12 students in the MWRA service area. Students may work alone or in teams of no more than four people. All entrants must submit a signed release form with their videos. Release forms are included in the contest entry packet (PDF). |
Legal Requirements |
Release Form: If you are under 18, your parent or guardian must give MWRA permission to use your video. Each member of your group must submit a signed release form along with the video. Release forms are included in the contest entry packet (PDF).
Copyrighted Material: You may only include clips from copyrighted commercials, movies, television shows, music, or on-line videos if you obtain copyright permission. You must verify that your video contains no copyrighted material in your signed release form. Release forms are included in the contest entry packet (PDF). |
Contest Topic |
Create a video (3 minutes or less) advertising why you should not use your toilet as a wastebasket. |
Deadline |

Please Note: All Contests |
Teachers and students, please remember that while this year’s topic is sewer-related, posters, essays and videos must be in good taste. Do not include graphic depictions of dirty toilets, urine, fecal matter or used personal care products. |
Required Forms and Labels |
Every group of student entries must have a Contest Registration Form and each entry must have a Student Label attached securely to the back of the entry. Forms and labels are included in the contest entry packet (PDF).
Students may enter on their own if they live in or attend a school in the MWRA service area. You must include the student label on the back of your entry. Labels are included in the contest entry packet (PDF). |
Prizes |
First prize in each category is a $100.00 gift check, 2nd prize is a $50.00 check, and 3rd prize is a $25.00 check. In the video contest there is a 1st, 2nd, 3rd and (3) honorable mention winners. All winners, including honorable mention winners, are invited with their families to an Awards Ceremony at Deer Island on Friday, May 23, 2014. |
How to Submit Contest Entries |
Submit 1 copy of the video in DVD format. A signed release form for every student must be included with the videos. Be sure to tape a completed student label included in the contest entry packet (PDF) onto each DVD case. Release forms are included in the contest entry packet (PDF).
