Area to be affected by planned, temporary water shutdown in Waltham (PDF)

The MWRA, working with the Waltham Water Department, will conduct a planned, temporary water shutdown in Waltham on Monday, August 26, 2013 from 8:30 AM-5:00 PM. The shutdown should only affect residents in the vicinity of Clark, Ripley, Peirce, River and Gale Streets. The area is marked in green in the map above.

This shutdown is a necessary step in the Waltham/Watertown Pipeline Project.

Residents of this area: Please draw enough water for cooking and drinking before the shutdown.

This work may cause water discoloration for a short while after water service is restored, due to a small amount of iron in the pipes. While safe for drinking, cooking, and other uses, please note that iron will stain light colored items in your laundry, especially when bleach is used. Residents should check water clarity before washing any white or lighter colored laundry during this period of work.

The MWRA apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause. Thank you for your cooperation as we continue this important project.
