Starting on Monday, September 11, 2023, the traffic light installation project at the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Griffin Way in Chelsea will resume. For the safety of the workers, jersey barriers will be placed along Eastern Avenue northbound restricting traffic at the construction staging area to one-lane as they install the second strain pole foundation and the new traffic light. The Eastern Avenue single lane closure will last for approximately two to three weeks. Subsequent activity will include the installation of new sidewalks and pulling traffic control wiring. Police details and signage will be on site to assist with the flow of traffic when construction activities are occurring, which will be from Monday through Friday from 9:00AM to 5:00PM. The project is expected to be completed by early November, weather and other circumstances permitting.
