MWRA Working on Active Leak at Waverly Oaks Road in Waltham

UPDATE - 11/04/22:

Another leak has been discovered along the 60” WASM3 line (SPL-10) on Waverly Oaks Road in Waltham, approximately 500 feet east of the initial leak. MWRA personnel will place road plates on the grass and secure the site. Staff will excavate today and make the repair tomorrow, on Saturday 11/05/22.

Reminder: When repaired, residents should run faucets until clear before doing laundry. Discolored water is not a health concern. If discolored water does occur, it will be from a small amount of iron in local pipes. Please note that iron will stain light colored items in your laundry, especially when bleach is used. Residents should check water clarity before washing any white or lighter colored laundry during this period of work.  Residents may want to wait for the water to clear before using it.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact MWRA’s 24-hour Operations Center at (617) 305-5950.
