On Tuesday September 22, 2020 the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority along with the Chelsea Water Department will be performing maintenance work on a local water line. The work will take place between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM.  This work will cause a temporary interruption of water service to residences along Marginal Street, between Shurtleff Street and Shawmut Street.

Normal water service will be restored by 4:00 PM.  Although not expected, discolored water may be possible for nearby residences 1 to 2 days following this work. If discolored water does occur, it will result from a small amount of iron in local pipes. Please note that iron will stain light colored items in your laundry, especially when bleach is used. Residents should check water clarity before washing any white or lighter colored laundry during this period of work.  Residents may want to wait for the water to clear before using it.
