MWRA Work May Cause Discolored Water/Pressure Loss
in Prospect Hill Area of Revere

UPDATE 07/30/2019: This project has been postponed.

--

At the request of the City of Revere, on Tuesday night July 30th at 9:00pm, the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority has scheduled a trial isolation of a water meter located near 232 Prospect Avenue in Revere. Once the trial is complete, on Wednesday night July 31st, MWRA will disconnect a 12-inch line from the meter for the City of Revere to abandon and fill its Prospect Hill covered storage tank.

Temporary loss of water pressure may occur in the Prospect Hill area on both Tuesday and Wednesday evening, and discolored water may be possible for 1 to 2 days following reactivation of the meter. If discolored water does occur, it is the result of a small amount of iron in local pipes. Please note that iron will stain light colored items in your laundry, especially when bleach is used. Residents should check water clarity before washing any white or lighter colored laundry during this period of work.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact MWRA Community Relations Manager, Jeffrey McLaughlin at (617) 305-5762 or jeffrey.mclaughlin@mwra.com, or or call MWRA’s 24-hour water phone line at 617-305-5950.
