On Wednesday, June 4, 2019, Governor Charlie Baker swore in two reappointed members of MWRA's Board of Directors, Brian Peña and Jennifer Wolowicz.
Mr. Peña, the gubernatorial appointee representing residents of the Merrimack Valley Basin, is the Commissioner of the Lawrence Water & Sewer Department. Prior to that, he was an engineer at Woodard & Curran. Mr. Peña has earned both a Masters and Bachelors degree in civil engineering and an MBA in accounting and finance from UMass-Lowell. He holds a number of water and wastewater licenses and is a registered professional engineer. He has served on the MWRA Board of Directors since 2015.
Ms. Wolowicz, Governor Baker's appointee representing Connecticut River Basin residents, is the Assistant Town Administrator for the Town of South Hadley. Prior to that she was the Personnel Officer/Chief Procurement Officer for seven years. She serves on the Golf Commission for the City of Chicopee. Ms. Wolowicz received an Associate’s Degree in Business Management from Holyoke Community College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Elms College, along with a double major in marketing. She has served on MWRA's Board of Directors since 2013.
