On Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 1:00 p.m., the MWRA will activate a new section of water main that was installed by the MWRA at the Town of Stoneham’s request, to provide higher quality drinking water in the Northwest Section of Town (see map, PDF)
This activation may cause temporarily discolored water. If this does occur, please do not do laundry at this time, as it could stain light colored clothing. Residents should wait for the water to clear before using it. If you experience discolored water, you may want to run your COLD WATER ONLY at the kitchen faucet or outside spigot until the water clears.
This work is part of MWRA’s Northern Intermediate High project to provide water system redundancy to Reading, Stoneham, Wakefield, Winchester and Woburn.
If you have any questions, please contact Jeff McLaughlin, (617) 305-5762 or MWRA’s 24-hour water line at (617) 305-5860.
