At 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 17, MWRA, in conjunction with the Brookline Water Division, will activate a new, 30-inch water main located along Fisher Avenue in Brookline. This process may result in temporarily discolored water in the Town of Brookline.

If discolored water does occur, it will result from a small amount of iron in local pipes. While safe for drinking, cooking and other uses, please note that iron will stain light colored items in your laundry, especially when bleach is used. Residents near this location should check water clarity before washing any white or lighter colored laundry during this period of work.
