Governor Patrick Swears in John Carroll |
|||||||
Congratulations to John J. Carroll, who was sworn in today by Governor Deval Patrick for his ninth term on the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) Board of Directors. Mr. Carroll was joined at the State House ceremony by just a few of his children and grandchildren; Speaker Robert DeLeo; Secretary Maeve Vallely Bartlett, Chair of the MWRA Board; Joseph Favaloro, Executive Director of the MWRA Advisory Board; and Fred Laskey, MWRA Executive Director. The MWRA is governed by an 11-member board of directors who are appointed by the governor, or directly by elected officials in MWRA’s customer communities. Carroll was re-elected to serve on the board in May 2014. He was first elected to the board in 1985, and is now the only original member of the MWRA Board of Directors. Since that time, Carroll has served as vice chairman of the board, and is one of three representatives of the MWRA Advisory Board.
