The Massachusetts Water Resources Authority will begin work to replace nearly century-old valves and pipelines at River Road in Weston, from Loring Road to River Road, which will require traffic to be detoured around the work area.
In anticipation of this work, the contractor will begin paving at River Road on Thursday, September 20. The detour is scheduled to begin on October 1 and is expected to remain in place through February, 2013.
Traffic will be directed with message boards and police details.
This work is part of the Hultman Aqueduct Rehabilitation project which provides redundancy for the delivery of drinking water to Boston and surrounding communities.
