Andrew Pappastergion was sworn in by Governor Deval Patrick on July 24 for a sixth term on the MWRA Board of Directors.
Mr. Pappastergion represents the MWRA Advisory Board.
MWRA is governed by an 11-member board of directors who are appointed by the governor, or directly by elected officials in MWRA’s customer communities. Mr. Pappastergion currently chairs the board’s Administration, Finance and Audit Committee. Mr. Pappastergion was re-elected by the MWRA Advisory Board in May.
Mr. Pappastergion is the Commissioner of the Department of Public Works for the Town of Brookline. Prior to that he was Director of the Water and Sewer Division for 25 years, and previously served as a project engineer for design and construction of improvements to the utility infrastructure. He has served as an active member of the MWRA Advisory Board since 1985, and was Chairman for five years.
