Marie Turner was sworn in by Governor Deval Patrick on September 15 for a fourth term on the MWRA Board of Directors. Ms. Turner represents the Town of Winthrop.
MWRA is governed by an 11-member board of directors who are appointed by the governor, or directly by elected officials in MWRA’s customer communities. Ms. Turner was re-appointed by the Winthrop Town Council in February 2011. Ms. Turner currently chairs the board’s Wastewater Policy and Oversight Committee.
Ms. Turner served as Chairman of the Winthrop Board of Selectmen and was a member of the Board for a number of years. She served in town government for over 35 years, having held positions as Secretary, Winthrop Pollution Control Committee; Assistant Treasurer; Administrative Secretary; Elected Town Clerk; and Elected Selectperson, the Town of Winthrop. |
