For several hours, excess water from the reservoir was released over the Wachusett Spillway at a peak rate of 1,980 million gallons per day. The Sudbury Reservoir, a 7.2 billion gallon emergency back-up water supply, also crested on March 31. Water was released over the Subury Dam at a peak rate of 378 million gallons per day.
