||||||||||
MWRA has begun work on the Southern Spine 107 Phase 2 Project. This project is part of MWRA's Southern Spine Distribution Mains Rehabilitation Project, a five-part program to improve water service for Quincy and Milton and parts of Boston, to modernize the water distribution system, provide adequate capacity, and connect to MWRA's new Blue Hills Covered Storage Facility. The $14.5 million project was awarded to RJV Construction. The project is eligible to receive $1.07 million through the Commonwealth's State Revolving Fund program. Work will include the replacement of 1.7 miles of 48-inch diameter water main and the relining of an additional 4,000 feet of pipe. Construction activity has started at Milton Village at Adams and Elliott Streets and will continue down to East Milton Square. The Lower Mills portion of the work will follow. Work is expected to be complete in 2013. For more information on this project, please e-mail or call Lenny Cawley, MWRA Community Relations Manager, (617) 660-7972. ### |
