Work begins on MWRA’s Walnut Street Pipeline Project in Brookline |
||||||
The Massachusetts Water Resources Authority has begun work on its Walnut Street Pipeline Rehabilitation Project in Brookline. This project involves the rehabilitation of approximately 7,900 feet of existing 48-inch water main by cleaning and applying a cement mortar lining. The water main runs along portions of Boylston Street, Walnut Street, and Washington Street. A public meeting was held in Brookline on September 19, 2007 to describe the project and introduce the contractor, J. D’Amico & Sons, to the community. The contractor has begun excavation to determine the exact location of the existing pipe. Following that work, they will begin to build access and receiving pit locations. For questions about the project, please contact Jeff McLaughlin, MWRA at (617) 660-7976 or by email at Jeffrey.McLaughlin@mwra.state.ma.us.
