Yesterday, a pressure reducing valve (PRV) malfunctioned in the MWRA’s Northern Low Service Area resulting in higher than normal water pressure in some areas of Medford, Chelsea, Malden, Everett, and East Boston.  This has caused multiple water line breaks in these communities.  Most of the breaks have been isolated, although a few are remaining.  There have been no reports of service interruptions or major traffic impacts.
