There has been recent news coverage of the detection of perchlorate in water supplies in Eastern Massachusetts.  MWRA has never found perchlorate in the water supply. The most recent test tok place in June 2004. The MWRA samples were tested with highly sensitive testing equipment that can detect levels of perchlorate to less than 1 part per billion.   MWRA tests the water supply each year for over 120 contaminants (see list of contaminants) to ensure the water supplied is of the highest quality.
